The significant durability benefit of moissanite compared to cubic zirconia (CZ) is its hardness; moissanite scores 9.25 on the Mohs scale, which greatly surpasses the 8-8.5 rating of CZ, making it much more resistant to scratches and chips, as well as more suitable for everyday use, closely matching the hardness of diamonds and preserving its shine and brilliance far longer than CZ.
